The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is the official gold bullion coin of Canada, issued annually by the Royal Canadian Mint on behalf of the Government of Canada. First released in 1979, it quickly became one of the most recognized and trusted gold coins in the world — second only to the South African Krugerrand at the time of its launch.

The coin features a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II (and from 2024 onward, King Charles III) on the obverse, and the national symbol of Canada — the maple leaf — on the reverse. In 1982, the purity was raised from 99.9% to 99.99% pure gold, making it one of the world’s first four nines fine bullion coins. Because of its exceptional purity and government guarantee, it remains a premier choice for investors and collectors seeking a stable, internationally recognized gold coin.

The Gold Maple Leaf is a 24-karat (.9999 fine) gold coin, refined and struck by the Royal Canadian Mint in Ottawa and Winnipeg. It incorporates advanced anti-counterfeiting features, including radial lines and a micro-engraved laser mark introduced in 2013. The coin is available in several denominations and sizes to suit different investment preferences.
